Do professors have to upload their content?
No. Tangramio is built around links to online content. Professors can organize the materials they already assign without downloading, uploading, or duplicating them.
How does Tangramio measure preparation?
Tangramio combines completion data with reflections, comments, polls, and concept responses to generate signals of student preparation and comprehension before class.
How is Tangramio different from Canvas or another LMS?
Canvas manages courses, assignments, rosters, and grades. Tangramio complements the LMS by connecting online course content to in-context engagement, comprehension signals, and actionable faculty insight.
Does Tangramio prove that a student learned?
No. Tangramio provides course-relevant signals that help professors assess preparation, identify potential comprehension gaps, and decide what to reinforce. It does not treat clicks or time-on-page as proof of learning.
How does Tangramio approach student data and privacy?
Tangramio emphasizes transparent, course-relevant signals. Students should know what is collected, why it is used, and who can see it. Educators remain responsible for interpreting the evidence and determining whether action is appropriate.
What does course setup require?
We can setup a course and initial content in under 20-minutes. For university pilot participants, Tangramio provides white-glove onboarding and can turn links from an existing course module into structured tangrams (i.e., multi-modal media experiences). Faculty can also create tangrams directly by adding links and engagement prompts. Tangrams can be used in one module or for all course content, adding a dynamic layer to any class session.
Does Tangramio work with Canvas?
Tangramio can be shared or embedded alongside existing courses. Canvas LTI integration is underway for university pilots, with SSO, roster, assignment, and gradebook capabilities being implemented. University pilots participants help steer future product development to meet their needs.
Who is the university pilot for?
Faculty teaching discussion-based, seminar, case-based, flipped, or multimedia-rich courses are especially strong fits. Tangramio is also seeking teaching-center, instructional-design, and IT partners who can support implementation. Tangramio is a great solution for professors that have large classes, and want to integrate engaging technology to spark increased participation.
What does Tangramio cost?
Students use Tangramio at no cost. University pilot and institutional licensing options depend on course size, implementation support, and integration requirements. University pilot participants receive complimentary access.
